Denver Mavericks of the International Hockey League played a half season at the Denver Coliseum before being transferred to Minneapolis.

1959-1960
The Denver Invaders of the Western Hockey League (farm team for Toronto Maple Leafs) played one season then moved to British Columbia.

1968-1974
Denver hosted the Denver Spurs of the Western Hockey League. Played one season in the World Hockey Association (WHA).

1974-1975
Denver Spurs moved to the Central Hockey League. Played 3 months, then moved on.

1974
Kansas City received an NHL franchise, the Kansas City Scouts.

1974-1976
Kansas City Scouts moved to Colorado and the new McNichols Arena and became the Colorado Rockies.

1976-1982
NHL in Colorado with the Colorado Rockies.

1982
Rockies franchise moved to New Jersey to become the New Jersey Devils.

1982-1984
Colorado Flames of the CHL (pro hockey) played one season in Denver.

1987-1988
The Colorado Rangers (pro hockey) played 3 season in Denver.

1988-1989
The Denver Rangers of the International Hockey League (IHL)

1994-1995
Denver Grizzlies of the International Hockey League (minor league team for New York Islanders) comes to town. Wins IHL championship in its inaugural season.

1995
Quebec Nordiques franchise moves to Denver to become the Colorado Avalanche. Denver Grizzlies of the IHL move on to Salt Lake City, Utah.

1995-1996
Colorado wins its first pro Championship, the Stanley Cup

2000-2001

Colorado wins the Presidents trophy for another time .
